Band & Choir
The Ford Middle School Choirs are performance electives available to all interested students. Daily rehearsals focus on learning individual and co-operative singing skills, music literacy, and preparing for performances throughout the year. All choir students perform for their grade-level peers at assemblies; the 7th and 8th Grade Choirs also perform at the Mountain Region Choral Festival and present four evening concerts for their families and the community. Every year, individual students may choose to also participate in the solo/ensemble festival, the FPSD honor choir, and may audition for placement into the WMEA Jr. All-State choir event. For questions about the FMS Choir program, please contact Matt Duhrkoop at mduhrkoop@fpschools.org
Band at Ford Middle School involves over 140 students in grades 6, 7 and 8. We are proud to be an inclusive and positive place for students that fosters personal responsibility and musical excellence. Band students perform throughout the school year at assemblies, after school concerts, at local music festivals and at regional parades.
Exceptional students can choose to participate in our regional Solo and Ensemble festival, the Franklin Pierce School District Honor Band, and the Washington Music Educators Association Junior All-State Band.
